Frequently Asked Questions

Connector Kits - General
7. Q: How does “Interference Fit” work at the cable entrance?
A: The ID of the connector's cable entrance is sized to be appropriately smaller than the OD of the cable, so that when assembled the housing grips the cable like a (long and tight) rubber band. These forced fits form such an intimate contact between the two surfaces that there is no possibility of penetration by moisture or dirt. These long lasting water seals have been used for more than 30 years by our sister company, Elastimold, in electrical components for use up to 130kV.
