Series Isolating Transformers

How Are Isolating Transformers Constructed?

  • Core - high grade silicon steel laminations
  • Windings - High temperature magnet wire is wound on a plastic bobbin, specially designed to prevent damage to the transformer during the encapsulation process.
  • Leads - Standard transformers have two primary leads, each 0,6 meters (24 inches) long. One lead is terminated with a plug connector FAA L823, Style 2 – and the other with a receptacle connection FAA L823, Style 9. They also have a secondary lead, 1,2 meters (48 inches) in length, terminated with an FAA L823, Style 8 (tennis ball) receptacle. Optionally, non-FAA certified transformers may have an FAA L823 Style 7 receptacle.
